The Hang Balu in music therapy – A publication that deserves attention!
Category: News Author: PANArt 15th January 2025
In the atelier of PANArt AG, all kinds of sound objects are created, which are carried out into the world by very different people. They fall on particularly fertile ground in the field of music therapy.
The experienced music therapists Christopher Baron (UK) and Dietmar Elsler (IT) have been using various Hang models in their work for years and have now put their valuable experiences, enriched with studies and therapy approaches, on paper. The result is a comprehensive collage about the use of the Hang, in particular the Hang Balu, in a therapeutic context, which has already attracted a lot of interest. This is also the case with us.
This writing is not only of interest to music therapists, but also to all those who are looking for an approach to our work - without aiming for a professional application.
We at PANArt have our own culture of playing together; often after work or with our many visitors, the various Hanghangs are made to sound collectively. But music as a form of free encounter with oneself and/or other people is practised in many contexts.
How these encounters can take place and what valuable insights two experienced therapists have to share about them can be read here:

We would like to thank Chris and Dietmar for their work and wish them many more enriching and inspiring encounters on their path.
