The Hang® Gudu is a hand played percussion instrument.
The high quality of Pang®, a composite material developed by PANArt, gives the instrument very good tuning stability as well as protection against corrosion.
PANArt's art of tuning is apparent in the harmonic interplay of the prestressed and tuned vessel with the air resonance in its cavity. The frequency of the air resonance is 155 Hertz (Eb3). This pitch can be altered by hand.
The Hang® Gudu has a height of 19 cm, a diameter of 38 cm and weighs 2.5 kg. It comes well-protected by a natural fiber case with a shoulder strap (made in Germany).
The Hang® Gudu's versatility
In order to perceive the deep sounds produced by the air resonance in the Hang® Gudu's cavity, we recommend that you listen to the videos only with good speakers or headphones.
Ways of playing
The Hang® Gudu is a talking pot which requires nimble hands. This happily chattering vessel calls for soul-infused playing.
