In our new section Instruments we provide an overview of the various Pang instruments currently built by PANArt. In this context we also present you with our newest instrument, the Hang® Gede.
Our unostentatious hand-played percussion instruments made of Pang, the Hang® Urgu, the Hang® Gudu and the most recent Hang® Gede, are available from our online shop. For nimble hands these handy and robust instruments offer a broad pallette of sounds. The pulse-like sounds of air resonance in their cavity are the heart of these novel sound sculptures. Their pitch can be varied over a broad range. PANArt succeeded in giving its Pang material a mature form, beyond the seductive sounds of sheet metal.
The sound sculptures Gubal® and Hang® Bal, however, are complex resonance vaults. They pose a particular challenge calling for players who are able to develop their own way of playing patiently based on an inner, personal music, and who can intuitively comprehend what is happening acoustically.
The string instruments Pang® Sui, Pang® Sai and Pang® Sei are part of the Pang ensemble. This is the PANArt tuner team's orchestra. Those interested in the concept of peaceful interplay of strings and metal sound sculptures may visit us in Bern and join us in play after work.
